Celtic Design Lacquered Paper Earrings with Faceted Amethyst Amethyst briolettes in soft light purple, beautifully faceted and with natural inclusions, are handwired to dangle below lacquered paper drops in a cream and light purple pattern reminicscent of classic celtic design. Gold-filled circles marry the two design elements, and the accent beads are golden bali-style daisy spacers. The earrings measure almost 2" below gold-filled earwires. These earrings are my original design. The lacquered drops are made with several layers of cold-pressed paper, with multiple layers of lacquer added for both gloss and durability. The lacquering process is time-consuming but the end result is extremely strong - I've been wearing my favorite pairs for over ten years and they look great.
