Today I am trying to pay particular attention to Tommy, our guinea pig…. he recently lost his brother and it has to hurt. Guinea pigs are kind of hard to get into sometimes - no, I don’t mean that in a bad day. Just that their main activities seem to be eating, pooping, and sleeping. Of course that’s the basics of what we all do! But he’s always been shy-ish, which is probably natural to a species that doesn’t have a lot of self-protection.
So we try to give him a few extra scritches, and little amusements, but mostly a little extra attention. He lived here with Chuckie for five years and now Chuckie’s gone. It’s hard.
So here’s to our pets. We chose them to share our lives with and they didn’t have a choice in the matter. it’s up to us to make them as healthy and happy as we can.
And all of you who remember the show “Rugrats” will know where their names came from. 
I just put this ring up on my Special Sale Page, where I list some one-of-a-kind items I can’t make again, or occasionally close-outs, or sometimes fun new goodies. For the first time I’m listing some handmade rings, and I can already tell I’m going to have a ball with these - they’re fun to make, they’re fun to wear, and I’m getting a wonderful customer response to them. I love it when the elements come together like this!
And there are now three full pages of special sale goodies, including some lovely earrings meant for young girls, flower girls, bridesmaids. Hey, summer’s coming!
So anyway I was trying to think of what this reminded me of, and it finally hit me - this jade is THAT close to the color of pink lemonade!
We still don’t have the truck back - but it’s not raining today so DH took the bike to work. This is not a sacrifice - it’s a Harley. Do I need to say anything else?
(Bet you a nickel we go for a ride tonight too. Just because. It’s almost 80 outside, yesterday was rainy, tomorrow will be rainy…you do the math!)

We took The Truck in today to get something or other done to it. They said it would take a while so my DH asked to take my car to work. Reasonable, as I ran errands like crazy yesterday and don’t really need to go anywhere today - and I’ve got tons of work to do here.
But there’s a big difference between not needing to go anywhere, and not planning to go anywhere - and not being ABLE to go anywhere! (Well, that I can’t just walk to, at least.) It’s just funny. I don’t even like to drive (I know, I know, I’m weird). But not having the car here just feels….wrong, y’know?
I’ve been putting new work up on my Special Sale Page. This page has earrings, and some necklaces and bracelets, that I have in limited supply (and maybe can’t get more of a component), a few close-outs or “last one”, and sometimes just something fun I can offer at a super price.

I’m feeling feminine lately…I think it might be the longer days since they switched to early-daylight-savings. I know that shouldn’t make a difference, but I’m a sunshine person (not always “sunny”, let’s not go there) - but I always feel better when the temperature rises and the sun comes out. And that good feeling has been working its way into my jewelry lately too.
Feminine filigree…it even sounds good. I have only a few pieces of these (don’t know if I can get more) so I’m putting it up in my Etsy shop (so much fun, Etsy!) which is where I”m offering my very-limited-edition or one-of-a-kind earrings, bracelets and necklaces. I’ve just recently started playing with Etsy - go check it out, it’s terrific! And of course let me know what you think of the Filigree.

I was trying to post here earlier… but Zini was sitting on my hand. She thinks I’m her personal play toy - which is the way it should be (in her view of the universe) and I indulge her when I can. But having a little parrot (Sun Conure, actually) nibbling on you while you try to type just kinda doesn’t work.
But she’s too much fun to have around. Just not all the time!

You know how I mentioned I was looking for new boots?
Still looking. There must be some out there - soft, not too heavy, nice black or tan leather…a little support (like they were, you know, shoes or something) but not clunky. Yes, I know there’s a lot of clunky out there. But I want soft.

Finally got my new Fall work up - I always forget how long it takes. Not to create the jewelry, or even take piccies (though that is an up and down challenge) - but to do the coding, update the database, coordinate what goes where, stuff like that. It’s such a treat to get it uploaded! And I’m really tickled with my new pieces. One of the best things about Fall is the freshness you feel when you pull on a soft new sweater, or new boots (and I’m looking for some!), and oh yeah, play with your new necklaces and earrings…

Ava Necklace
I love the black and white combo (okay, offwhite). It looks fresh and the mother of pearl adds just enough light to be pizzazz-y. And the woven onyx column in the center is just cool, even if I do say so myself!
So we were sitting in the living room Saturday night, relaxing after having 40 or so people over for the post-season softball game for the girls team - our daughter, 14, has been on the team for several years, my DH is a coach, and Weekend Jewelry sponsors the team. The phone rings - groan, we just want to relax.
But the phone call was a lovely surprise. I had recently sent a necklace to a customer - it was a gift for her sister’s birthday (3 weeks away). She couldn’t wait till the birthday to give the gift - and she and her sister were calling me to tell me how much they loved the necklace. It made me feel like a million bucks. They loved the necklace, which was wonderful - and they took the trouble to find my phone number and call!
Aside from how pleased I was, it reminded me how special it is to get a heartfelt thank you - and that there are plenty of times I should do that too. It means the world sometimes!
