Once in a while you get shown the light in the strangest of places if you look at it right. J. Garcia May 4, 2005 Been busy busy busy. More on that later. But I can't get a full entry done right this second, so instead dear readers I will treat you to an excerpt from one of my favorite authors. "I was unelightened enough at one time to believe in the finality of death. I'm not naive enough now to believe in the finality of extinction. Except on a purely formal level. You've been close enough to the source to have learned that beings never really go extinct. Their forms my become obsolete but their essential energies are eternal. The only thing that ever disappears is the shape of energy. Long after the visible, recognizable garter snake has vanished, its energy will hang on. Dinosaurs are still with us in the form of energy. There may be some dinosaur energy in you. There is plenty of saber-toothed tiger energy around. And trilobite energy. I ran into some woolly mammoth energy just the other day. So, my sun, what we would be preserving would be merely shapes; containers, as it were, although the containers themselves are composed of energy, are intrinsic and substantial and interwoven communications of energy and do not merely hold it as a jug holds milk. Moreover, the physical appearance of these containers is beautiful; the design, the color, the functions of sensation and movement, the sense action and discernible psychic life. In a way, our zoo of endangered species would be like a museum, but a museum of full containers rather than of empty ones as is usually the case. A museum of living shapes that perhaps have outlived their function; therefore a museum outside of time, above time. above death; therefore a poetics." Tom Robbins - Another Roadside Attraction Rule number 1 is don't sweat the small shit. Rule number 2 is It's all small shit. Unknown April 26, 2005 When it rains it pours. My life tends to be either full on 9 kazillion miles per hour directly forward or at a dead stop. I know I am supposed to continue my little thesis on natural stone crystals and their energy potentials, but not today. Today is crash day. I have been moving moving for the past 4 or 5 days and today it all caught up with me. Back in 1994, I was in a car wreck. My '89 Tempo got rear ended by an old 70's Pontiac boat. My rear bumper ended up in my back seat and I got tossed around between a collapsing seat and my steering wheel. Luckily I had my seat belt and shoulder harness on, so I did not go through the windshield when my car was slammed into a guardrail in front of me but, my shoulder went up against the harness violently several times, wrenching my back in several places. In the aftermath, I went to various neuro surgeons, chiropractors, osteopaths, had mris done, got poked and stroked for hours on end only to be told "It's just a strain and it will go away in time". It has been 10 years and still gives me all sorts of problems. Liars. I have tried to find a good massage therapist here in Kansas City but have not found one that knows crap about what they are doing, so I end up visiting the chiropractor every month or so to get the pressure relieved and be able to continue functioning. Today, my back feels terrible. I do not like chiropractors. I feel that a chiropractor's chief aim is to keep you coming back for more. They use manipulation of the spine and muscles to provide temporary relief of pain. This is all well and good, but it does not treat the cause, just the symptom. While there are many conditions, particularly injuries, that definitely require doctors and medicine, often the aches and pains we feel would be better treated by a good massage. The main difference between a good massage therapist and a chiropractor is that while a chiropractor revels in having you come back again and again and again, a good massage therapist would feel that they had failed if you had to come back more than two or three times. A good massage therapist would want you to come back because you like it rather than because you need it. But, like I say, I have been unlucky in finding a good massage therapist in the area. So, I will probably get to my chiropractor this afternoon and have him move all the bones around, temporarily providing some pressure relief and some pain relief. But until then, my brain is muddled and cloudy because the pain in the back has gotten to the point that my brain can no longer ignore it. I think it was Einstein that said "man only uses 10% of his brain capacity". That's right Albert my friend, the other 90% is being used to cover the pain in the lower back. Imagine what we would be capable of if we could remove that pain and have 100% of our brain capacity available for use. about backs and back pain May I recommend ? If you ask me what I know, it would be a very short book. If you ask me what I think it will go on forever. My own original thought April 22, 2005 This is a continuation of my first entry - yesterday, April 21, 2005 - so if you want to see the beginning of this, please scroll down. This ain't one of them fancy schmancy scripted blogs. This be 100% original hand coding :) When I stopped posting last night, I was talking about my introduction to the concept of manipulating energy. As I said, my first introduction to the passing of energy between people was through massage, or more aptly, "the laying on of hands". As I thought about it, the trading of energy between the giver and receiver in a massage session made more and more sense. After all, we are part of the universe, we are part of nature and throughout nature the passage of energy among the many entities that comprise the universe is well, natural. Think about it. Energy passes from the sun into plants via photosynthesis. Those plants are eaten by animals (including humans) and through the digestive process are converted with the animal body absorbing the energy from the plants. Then the animal goes and uses that energy, passing it out throughout their environment via various methods. The energy leaves the animal body and is deposited as potential energy among its droppings, thereby going back into the plants roots. Some animals are eaten by other animals and once again the digestive process takes the energy from the eaten and passes it to the eater. It is one big cycle, a never-ending circle of energy being transformed, converted, used, but never destroyed. Energy is not always a positive thing to receive. There is good energy and then there is bad energy. Just as the sun-plant-animal-plant cycle of energy is very easy to see and comprehend, the other versions of the energy cycle is not always easy to see but must instead be surmised by evaluating the evidence at hand. Almost every human being in modern western civilization suffers some sort of back problems by the time they enter middle age. Why ? It is because the mind, early on in life, learns how to store "negative energy" within the body and one of its favorite places to store it is in the lower back. The mind also learns how to cover the pain, because if we could actually, consciously recognize all of the negative energy entering our bodies each and every second, we would be paralyzed. Once again, think about it. You get up in the morning and go to work. All around you is the noise of the highway, a constant roar , a cacophony of negative energy that is detected by your body. Through the air are flying radio waves, microwaves, radar and all the other wireless signals created to make life easier for us. These are all forms of energy. That horn that just startled the hell out of you created a sound (energy) that entered your body, most noticeably through your ears but also through every single particle of your body. When sound (or any other type of energy) hits an object, that object will vibrate at various frequencies as it absorbs energy relating to those frequencies. These harmonics are absorbed quite readily by the soft outer layer we call skin. Once they enter the object, they will either pass through or be stored. In a modern human, these sounds and vibrations are usually stored as a thing we call stress. When you have too much negative energy stored and your mind can no longer block it, you start to feel it. Stress tends to display itself as anxiety, anger, hate and other negative emotions. Through massage and various other methodologies, which are all 100% natural, this negative energy can be transformed, or channeled if you will, into positive forces. Now, I'm not into all the metaphysical paranormal mumbo jumbo crap, but like any concepts that have been around for millennia, most of the metaphysical theories are grounded in what are in actuality sound scientific observation. For example, let's look at natural crystals and the ideas that have sprung up around them. When I first heard people talking about Crystal theory, I pretty much poo pooed the idea as just more new age mumbo jumbo. I was young and stupid then. Crystals (more appropriately natural stones) being used to channel energy is as natural as anything else within the energy cycle. When I was nine or ten years old I received as a present a "Crystal Radio Kit", not much different than this in actuality (even though I am talking about 40 years ago. It amazes and pleases me that these type of things are still available)
With my crystal radio, I was able to listen to all sorts of radio stations without the use of electricity, no battery, no electric cord, just a quartz crystal with a coil of copper wire around it. I was amazed. I learned that if you stretched or shrank the wire (changing the length of the coils) you could receive different stations. The crystal was receiving and transmitting all sorts of vibrations. If you could make the coil the right length, it vibrated in tune to the transmissions of the crystal and would allow you to listen in. The concept that crystals could be used to channel energy at certain frequencies to assist in healing should not have thrown me. I think it was the concept that crystals somehow stored or created the energy was what I actually rebelled against because the concept that energy could be concentrated and used to help the body was neither foreign or unacceptable to me and in fact is in use all around me. The healing power of crystals is not through stored energy. Crystals do not create energy but crystals are capable of concentrating energy at certain frequencies depending on the stone. Concentrating energy on certain parts of the body to assist in the healing process is an idea that has been ingrained within us since the beginning of time. It is as natural as the sun rising and setting. Acupuncture, reflexology, massage, chiropractics, dentistry, surgery, nuclear plants, pretty much any technology, modern or ancient was based in some form on the concentration of energy upon one particular in order to achieve a goal. Meanwhile, if you would like to find out more about crystals and their uses May I recommend April 21, 2005 Once you can accept the universe as matter expanding into nothing that is something, wearing stripes with plaid comes easy. Albert Einstein It is a dark and stormy night. No really, I mean it. We have been under a tornado watch for the past few hours. There were reports of touchdowns to the north. There is full cloud to ground lightning all around us. You can feel the energy just flowing through it all. Massive amounts of energy being unleashed in all of Mother Nature's glory. I love storms. Especially electrical storms. Which brings me to what this blog is all about. Since this is my first entry, it seems rather proper that I should introduce myself or at least my subject. I know, I know, a blog is supposed to be my personal journal type thingie, but by putting it on the internet and having it open to public view it becomes something more than just a journal. It is sort of like the difference between your behavior when you are alone and when you know that someone might see you. In the former scenario you have to explain nothing to anyone except yourself, in the latter you must explain yourself or risk being misunderstood or misinterpreted. One of my favorite subjects to discourse on is energy. The energy all around us, flowing through us and between us. The energy that joins everything in the universe together. The energy that can be utilized by each and every entity for either good or evil, to cause sickness or to heal, to cause the joining together or the violent repulsion of two pieces of matter. Energy is everywhere. You can't always see it, you can't always feel it but is there just the same. Energy can not be created nor destroyed. I learned that in grade school. However, energy can be manipulated, it can be used, it can be transformed between a state of rest and a state of motion. Energy can be made to dance on the head of a pin, energy can be passed between two objects. Energy is. When I was a little kid, maybe eight years old or so, I used to play with electricity. First I played with batteries and flashlight bulbs, then electric trains and then with the full on 120 volt, 20 amp circuits in our house. My childbrain could imagine all sorts of uses and devices that would utilize this wonderful medium, a power that could light up a room or could kill a mouse (I didn't say I was a nice kid). Later, in my early adulthood, I learned about other types of energy (although I still balk at the concept of "other types" of energy, there is really no way to describe it other than with that phrase but the fact of the matter is just that energy is. It is all the same thing, doesn't matter what type) by being introduced to massage or as we called it "the laying on of hands". Ok, yes, in reality I got involved with massage because there were naked chicks involved and naked chicks meant the chance to get laid and anywhere that had the potential to get laid is where you would find me at. It doesn't always matter what road leads you somewhere, it is what you do when you reach the destination that matters. So, I learned massage from a couple of friends. They were extremely well versed in " Esalen Massage ", both having taken training at the Esalen Institute. Massage awakened my mind. Receiving a massage was always wonderful but to my amazement giving a massage was even more powerful than receiving one. After giving a massage I feel completely energized. I came to understand that massage was a two way street of energy being passed between the giver and the receiver. Gotta keep up the energy, ya know ? Meanwhile, if you would like to learn more about massage, May I reccomend ? |
Man, plants and animals are not the only entities on the planet that can pass energy between them. The universe is
one piece and energy is constantly moving between all objects (whether we consider them animate or inanimate).
Natural Stones (Crystals) can be used to channel that energy, much the way a masseuse or masseur can channel energy between two human bodies. Smokey Quartz can help to balance the emotions.
It helps to clear and transform negative emotions across the long term.
Turquoise helps one find balance and harmony quickly. It is often credited with speeding up the healing process.
Other properties associated with this beautiful blue green stone are communication, protection and abundance.
Often used for protection Black Jasper also helps channel healing energy and can protect against lightning.
Known as "blackstone" Black Jasper is used for problems with the feet, hips and stomach and is sometimes used to relieve pain.
Obsidian is the first stone to be used for arrowheads and knives and is thus considered by many to be a stone of protection.
The Warrior's stone of Truth, it affords great insight and allows the wearer to regain that which is lost within.
